Who's got two thumbs and a job?

THIS GUY!!!!

I start on July 10th. Which means I have less than 20 days to get my proverbial you know what together. And six of those days are going to be spent visiting friends for the Fourth of July. I'm excited but ever so slightly freaked. It's going to be a huge change after my 'sabbatical year' as a stay at home student. (That sounds better than 'the extra year I took, in which I did not get much done' right?)



This was the suit I wore for my Skype interviews. I wore it first without the shirt and then with the shirt for the second interview. It's not the best fitting suit ever but I needed something right away and it fit well enough for appearing on someone's computer screen. Everything suit-like I already owned really didn't fit or seemed too dark and somber for Skype. (I wanted to really POP! on screen.) The fabric is a silvery sharkskin with a lavender pinstripe. I wouldn't have thought I'd like it as much as I do. When I've bought suits in the past I've tended towards more feminine cuts, usually with a bit of a vintagey feel, and never, ever a pant suit. But I dig the menswear chic effect with my pixie cut. There's nothing like having to take what you can get for expanding your horizons.

    Congratulations! It's a brave new world when all your interviews are done via Skype! You look really sharp and it's no wonder you were their pick.

    I was a bit worried about the Skype thing but it worked out fine. Much, much better than the phone interviews I've had in times past. And it sure beats flying across the country for an interview. Now I get to fly across the country for the training. But that seems much less nerve wracking than traveling to an interview. At least I know they already kind of like me!

    I love this suit on you. I think the fit is great. I love the fact that is it shiny. You are so correct that a pixie haircut works with that suit. Congratulations on your new job. How exciting. If your training is anywhere near DC I would love to meet you for lunch... if you would have the time.

      Ohh, I'd love to do a lunch. The training is in Florida, so not close at all, but one I get a travel assignment it might bring me closer to DC and then we could arrange something.

      The training is two weeks long and then I will receive a travel assignment (provided I don't wash out in the training haha) and be off to parts unknown (at least the parts are currently unknown to me) Apparently the training is also an assessment period where they decide who gets the best assignments so I won't know until the end where I will be going after that.
